Wrestling Tri sees two seniors score

Date:

Last Tuesday, January 24, Garretson Wrestling gathered in the Old Gym for a triangular match with Sioux Falls Lincoln and Parker schools. The stands were packed with cheering fans for the last home match of the season, which saw seniors Jaden Richter and Preston Bohl score wins against their opponents.

"The big pin was Richter against Sioux Falls Lincoln," said Head Coach Brady Schleuter. The 285-lb weight class wrestler took out Elliot Renville of Lincoln in a 12-3 decision. He also won against Parkston's Isaac Soulek in 26 seconds by pin.

Bohl (145-lb) won by fall against Lincoln's Owen LeMeier in 1:45.

Overall, Parkston and Lincoln scored 54 and 51 points to Garretson's 18 and 22 points, making for some tough competition, but did its best to not make it easy for the opponents.

The season isn't over yet, as the team heads to the Big East/Lake-Central tournament in DeSmet on Saturday, and to Sioux Falls O'Gorman and Arlington next week Tuesday and Friday.
