According to the Minnehaha County Sheriff's office, there were two adult victims and no fatalities. Both victims were hospitalized, and the Sheriff's office stated that witnesses were being interviewed.

Initial scanner reports alleged that one victim was shot multiple times, and the other was shot in the wrist. Neither of these allegations were verified as of Tuesday.

In a police briefing held Tuesday morning, Captain Josh Phillips with the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Department noted there were more than two people involved in the incident, and everyone appeared to know each other. No one left the scene before deputies arrived, according to Captain Phillips. Further details were not released pending investigation.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's office reported that there was no further risk to the community. No arrests had been made as of press time.

Captain Phillips commended the first responders of Garretson, saying they did a good job in their response.
