Most parents want to get their child a present at Christmastime that is "the one." The one present that'll make them scream in happiness and surprise. While unplanned, 5-year old Coyer Buchholz had gotten the best Christmas present of all in his book: the attention of an NFL football player.

In our Dec 30 issue of the Gazette, it was mentioned that Coyer Buchholz, whose happy reaction to receiving some trading cards of NFL player JJ Watt of the Texans, had garnered the attention of the player himself after dad Cory posted the video on Twitter.

"JJ Watt! Let's goooo!" Coyer had yelled upon unwrapping the gift. The video showed a quick view of the card after focusing on Coyer, who was jumping and screaming around the room.

" JJ Watt is one of my favorite players," said Coyer to the Gazette. " I was very happy when JJ Watt sent me a message."

Watt, who in a video of his own said Coyer's reaction had made his day, promised to send Buchholz a gift package and showed a box containing trading cards, along with a pair of game-worn gloves and cleats.

A few days later, the package arrived. The cleats and gloves inside were signed, as were four trading cards. Coyer also received eight other trading cards.

" Coyer was definitely in awe when he opened the box (as was the rest of the family)," said mom Kelsey. "We all did our best to be patient and let Coyer take out the items one by one. He was surprised that there were so many signed items and he couldn't believe the size of the gloves nor the cleats! They are huge."

Watt, who is 6'5" and 290 lbs, wears a size 14 shoe.

"Coyer has always been a sports fan, almost has had to be because of his brothers, as well as his parents (coaching and fans)," said Kelsey. "He adhered to the Houston Texans, and subsequently JJ Watt, when we took a family vacation down to Texas a few years back. And then that fandom was reaffirmed when Watt and his two brothers (who also play in the NFL) hosted a show called "Ultimate Tag"."

" I like the Watt brothers because they are really good football players and they host Ultimate Tag," said Coyer.

Coyer, who is five, is currently involved in as many sports as his young age allows. He's a manager for the high school volleyball and basketball teams, and is in wrestling and t-ball. He's excited to start playing flag football this coming fall.

His love of sports means the attention of the big man himself gave him the gift of a lifetime.

"I would tell JJ Watt, 'Thank you JJ Watt; it was the BEST GIFT EVER!'"
