On Sunday, the Garretson High School held a performance of the one act play, "Pony Expresso". The light-hearted, pun-filled play followed the antics of the community coffee shop in Waterpit, Nevada, as a mysterious illness goes through town.
With its Sheriff on a two-week vacation, Mayor Coffee (played by Morgan Moritz) deputizes cowpoke Buck Brawn (played by Drew Pederson), who investigates the source until it nearly kills him- with coffee!
Fortunately, Brawn survives, and is able to propose to Star Bright (played by Mattea Fiegen), with whom he's had a crush on since the beginning of the show, and is able to arrest the villain Mo Cabana (played by Molly Hulscher) after his plans to poison Pony Expresso's coffee were foiled by sidekick Fifi Latte (played by Lizzie Olson). Turns out, Cabana wanted to profit off the town's coffee, especially after the coffee shop was designated the official coffee stop of the railroad that would be coming through town!
The one-act brought together many of the same actors who took the Garretson High School's One Act to State this past winter, and allowed these veterans to showcase their talents again for one last hurrah, especially for seniors Fiegen, Hulscher, Olson, and Lardy. The play was directed by Erika Brown and Kim Macziewski.
Update 5/19/21: Lizzie Olson was accidentally omitted from the list of seniors. This has been updated.
