School’s Out! First day of Pool!

Date:

The Garretson Community pool opened on June 1, 2021. It’s always a little cold early in the season so some of the youngsters were a little reluctant at first, but soon enough they were sliding and jumping with glee.

Pool memberships can be purchased during open hours, which will be Monday through Friday 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.

From the Garretson Community Pool Board:

"Life jackets are allowed Mon - Fri after 5:00 WITH ADULT SUPERVISION and Sat & Sun ALL DAY WITH ADULT SUPERVISION. One-week sessions of Red Cross Learn to Swim swimming lessons will be offered. Each lesson will be 40 minutes in length for each of the 5 days. Sessions will be offered July 19-23. Sessions are available either in the morning or late afternoon. Sign up for lessons at the pool office after June 1st!If you plan on having a guest for a portion of the summer, please remember guests cannot use the pool on family passes. The pool board would like to remind the community of the need for supervision of children. Please do not drop young children off at the pool and expect the lifeguards and other pool staff to look after them throughout the day. The wading pool is supervised only by the adult bringing the child/children, as the lifeguards need to concentrate on the safety of the swimmers in the main pool. For the safety of toddlers and preschool children, patrons who swim in the main pool are not allowed to swim or play in the wader at any time. This includes break times, whether or not parents are present. Please go over the pool rules with your child/children before the season starts. As a board, we strive to offer a safe environment for all of our swimmers."
