It was a cloudy rain threatening Sunday afternoon August 25th,when the Garretson FFA and Gregg Kringen set up a petting zoo for the residents at the Bethany Meadows healthcare in Brandon. Animals of all kinds were provided by Grant, Gregg, Ben Kringen, Mike Stoterau family, Kennedy Houghton and Keldra Velkamp. After setting up the pens, FFA members helped the staff bring the wheelchair bound people out to get acquainted with the animals. What a delight for the people to see, touch and hold the different animals. To see young and old together, touched the hearts of many.
After two hours the FFA members helped load the animals and gates, and headed for home. A big THANK YOU goes to the FFA, Gregg Kringen, all who brought animals, and to the FFA advisor Alysha Kientopf. This is the FFA's third petting zoo this year. One was during FFA week in the spring, another during Jesse James Days and the third at Bethany Meadows. The residents had a fun day and enjoyed themselves. Thankfully the rain held off until early evening that day.
