Obituary: Keith D. Jones age 73

            Keith D. Jones age 73 , of rural Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

            Memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Garretson, SD with Pastor Corey Scott officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

            Visitation with family present will be Wednesday, October 16th from 5 :00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Garretson.

             The Garretson American Legion will provide full military honors at the Funeral Home following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, family prefer memorials.

Keith Jones was born July 9, 1951 in Garretson, SD to Gordon and Grace (Eads) Jones. He graduated from Garretson High School and entered the United States States Army serving in Viet Nam.

            On June 16, 2011 he was united in marriage to Teri Pritchard. They made their home near Corson, SD. Keith worked as a foreman and retired from the Sweetmen Construction Sand and Gravel company in Corson, SD for over 40 years.

            Keith was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved riding his motorcycle and was very proud of his yard that he would take care of in his free time. He loved helping neighbors and friends and was always doing something outside. Keith was the most amazing husband and dad and would always make time for family and friends

            He is survived by his wife, Teri; daughter Haylee (Ali Elkafifi) of Sioux Falls; mother-in-law, Janice Eidsness of Sioux Falls; brother and sister, Galen and Lauri McGee of Sioux Falls; sister-in-law, Cathy Jones; niece, Jamie Jones and nephews, Joe and Max Jones,and other extended family members.

            Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Grace Jones; brothers, LeRoy, Rodney, Larry and Claude; and step-mother, Esther Jones.
