Obituary: Harlow Lundquist, 82

Harlow Lundquist was born at the family farm near Erwin, SD to Arthur and Minnie (Hintze Homuth) Lundquist. He attended elementary and high school at Erwin, where he graduated. After graduation, he worked for the forestry service in the Black Hills and construction for Gil Haugan before successfully owning and operating Lundquist Construction. Harlow was drafted into the Army in 1961. He served his country in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was a part of the 6th US Missile Detachment.

Harlow passed away on Wednesday March 31st, 2021 at the age of 82 years old.  A graveside service with military honors was held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Garretson on Saturday, April 3, 2021, where he was laid to rest beside his wife, Annette Lundquist.

Survivors include his daughters: Lisa Archambeau (MJ Masters), Lori Lundquist Wall (Robert), Lana Hawkins; step-children: Brenda Loneman, Brian Engebretson, Keith Engebretson, Lisa Jorgensen, and Nancy Johnson; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Kenneth (Barb) Lundquist, Larry Lundquist; 1 sister: Gladys (Burton) Horsted.
He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, 6 brothers: Harold, Roy, Neal, Raymond, Stanley, and Robert; and 2 sisters: Esther and Joyce.

Harlow had many hobbies and passions which included hunting, fishing, traveling, motorcycling, and going on adventures. He loved history and would never pass up the opportunity to stop and read historical marker signs on the side of the road. Harlow was blessed to have exceptional friends and a loving family throughout his lifetime.
