Graduation is this Saturday, May 19, at 1:00 pm in the Garretson School Gym. Congratulations to the 2018 Graduates! The Garretson Blue Dragons have lots to celebrate this week, with two Golfers getting a hole-in-one, a baseball pitcher playing a perfect game, Erynn Fink signing on to play with DSU, and much more. We also profile the newest Garretson summer activity, Movies in the Parks, and comb the latest City Council meeting for all the news you can use.

CLARIFICATION AND CORRECTION: Just a quick clarification about the Perfect Pitcher brief, most of the information on the front page was right but a few details are in need of correction.

Lucas Fitzgerald did pitch a perfect game against Sioux Falls Christian! Eighty-six pitches, 21 up, 21 out. This was for Garretson High School Club Baseball, not Legion Baseball, as the Legion baseball schedule hasn’t even started yet.

The confusion came because this perfect game was talked about in Owen Wiese’s Legion report when Jeff Koneche was talking with the Legion guys about the upcoming season.

The GHS Club team coach, Scott Schleuter, said that a pitch perfect game has been done twice before in class A baseball, but Lucas is the first in Class B.
