Grow Garretson & Garretson Gazette are hosting a Mayoral Candidate Forum this weekend

Date:

This weekend the Grow Garretson citizens group and the Garretson Gazette will be hosting a mayoral candidate forum at the Garretson School Old Gym starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 25th.

Each of the mayoral candidates, Greg Beaner, Tom Godbey and Bruce Brown have all been invited to the event and as of this printing all candidates have confirmed that they plan to attend. Garrick Moritz, editor of the Garretson Gazette will act as moderator for the forum.

The forum will start with several basic questions from the moderator, and then the floor will be opened to questions from the audience. Tyler Ramsbey of the Blue Light Podcast will also be broadcasting the event on Facebook live. Each candidate will have two minutes to respond to any given question. Questioners are advised to make their questions applicable to all candidates. For these general questions, the candidate who gets to speak first on any given question will be determined randomly. If a questioner has a specific question for a specific candidate, that may be allowed, but each candidate will be allowed time to make either a rebuttal or to answer the question in their own way on any topic brought forward. In the questioning period, the questioner may ask any fair, clear question that has a direct bear- ing on the debate. The questioner must confine himself to questions and not make statements, comments, or ask rhetorical questions.

This forum will be a platform for honest civil discourse and the moderator reserves the right to reject any question that he judges to be leading, hurtful or profane.

So, if you want to observe and participate in the Garretson Mayoral Forum, come to the Garretson School’s Old Gym at 1 p.m. to speak with the candidates yourself.
