Lots of Fun Happening This Weekend

Date:

UPDATE: Due to the expected forecast, the date of the Jazz Concert has been changed to May 12!

Even with the nasty weather inbound this weekend, if you’re bored here in the Garretson Area, then it’s your own dang fault...

First, the production of Steel Magnolias will open on Friday, April 13th at 7 p.m. They will perform on April 14th at 7 p.m., April 15 at a 3 p.m. matinee, and then will perform on the same schedule the next week April 20 & 21 at7p.m.anda3p.m.matineeat3p.m.on April 22.

“I do want to let folks know that we are totally sold out for our Friday, April 20 performance,” said Gnadt. “There are still tickets available for every other night, but I suggest you get them while you can.”

Advanced tickets can be purchased at the Treasure Chest, Family Floors and Furniture or by calling Director Gnadt at 605-321-3758.

“One further thing I want to let you know about is a little deal we worked out with Omar Thornton and his “O” So Good Restaurant,” said Gnadt. “We’re big fans and the cast has frequented his restaurant several times during the course of rehearsals. Well, any night of the show, anyone who comes to dinner at O’s and has tickets to our production will get 15 percent off their meals, courtesy of the chef being a fan of the performing arts.”

“O” So Good Resturant is also hosting a Jazz night featuring the Haygood/Larsen Quartet this Saturday, April 14. Dinner will be served from 3-6 p.m. with free hors d’oeuvres before the show. Seating for the show with hors d’oeuvres starts at 7 p.m. Music kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Seats are $25 per single, $40 per couple. Call 594-3600 to check for available seating.
