 Garretson Legion Falls to Dakota Valley After Sixth Inning Score

            Garretson Legion stayed in it until the end, but Dakota Valley pulled away late in an 8-3 victory on Thursday.  The game was tied at one with Dakota Valley batting in the top of the sixth when DV's #55 drew a walk, scoring one run.

            Garretson Legion lost despite out-hitting Dakota Valley eight to five.

            DV's #13 earned the win for Dakota Valley. undefined surrendered two runs on six hits over six innings, striking out four and walking one.  #12 threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

            Dylan Kindt took the loss for Garretson Legion. The southpaw surrendered two runs on zero hits over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two.

            Colby Buseman started the game for Garretson Legion. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs over five and a third innings, striking out 11.

            Garretson Legion collected eight hits on the day.  Tayson Swatek and Jayse Miller each collected multiple hits for Garretson Legion.  Miller and Swatek each managed two hits to lead Garretson Legion.

            DV's #7 led Dakota Valley with two hits in four at bats.  Dakota Valley was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. #9 made the most plays with seven.

Late Score Costs Garretson Legion Against Elk Point-Jefferson

            Garretson Legion stayed in it until the end, but Elk Point-Jefferson pulled away late in an 8-5 victory on Friday, July 1. It was an unfortunate loss on the final regular home game of the season.  The game was tied at five with Elk Point-Jefferson batting in the top of the fifth when Larson's sac fly scored one run for Elk Point-Jefferson.

            Garretson Legion got things started in the first inning when Jayse Miller singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

            Ben Swatek was credited with the victory for Elk Point-Jefferson. The hurler surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out three.

            Jake Schroeder took the loss for Garretson Legion. The bulldog went one inning, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out one.

            Isaiah Gnadt started the game for Garretson Legion. The righty lasted four innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out five Geary started the game for Elk Point-Jefferson. The bulldog went three innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out two.

            Miller went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Garretson Legion in hits.  Garretson Legion was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Ryan Flanagan made the most plays with eight.

            Elk Point-Jefferson collected nine hits on the day.  Anderson, Geary, and T Rometer all had multiple hits for Elk Point-Jefferson.  Anderson led Elk Point-Jefferson with three hits in three at bats.

            Garretson Legion will next face off with Tri-Valley in Colton on Thursday (tonight), on Sunday afternoon against Menno, and Monday with Baltic. Their final regular game of the season will be next Friday, July 15 at Canova, SD.
