JV GBB Action

            On Tuesday February 7, the JV GBB team matched up against the Watchdogs from Beresford.  The Blue Dragons struggled to score in the first quarter and found themselves down 0 – 12.  In second quarter action the Blue Dragons were able to put some points on the board and went into the half with the score 8 – 22.  Garretson came out in the second half with momentum but were unable to overtake the Watchdogs and lost 23 – 37.  Jordan DeWitte led the offense with nine points and Ashley Harris eight.  Alyssa Olson added three and Tayler Benson chipped in two.

            The Garretson Blue Dragons traveled to Canton on Friday February 10 to take on the C-Hawks.  Canton made a big offensive run in the first quarter and the Blue Dragons were unable to match the pace.  Garretson slowed the momentum of the C-Hawks in the second, but the offensive game went in favor of Canton, and they led at the half 36 – 8.  Garretson battled in the second half, but the C-Hawks went on to get the win 53 – 13.  Jordan DeWitte, Ava Ockenga and Lucie Frewaldt each had three points.

            On Saturday February 11, the Blue Dragons were back on the hardwood against the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks.  The Blue Dragons moved the ball well offensively and the score remained close at the end of the first half with Garretson down 12 – 17.  The girls worked hard defensively the second half but were unable to overtake the Elks and lost 28 – 32.  Alyssa Olson led the scoring effort with thirteen points.  Ashley Harris added six and Tayler Benson four points.
