Garretson JV Defeats Sioux Falls Christian

On Tuesday January 19, the Blue Dragons were on the road to take on the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers.  Behind a well-rounded offensive effort and strong defense, Garretson went into the half leading 35-13.

The Chargers were unable to slow the momentum of the Blue Dragons in the second half and Garretson went on to defeat Sioux Falls Christian 52 – 31.

Leading scorers were Sydney Olson with twelve points, Logan Bly eleven, Jordyn Williams eight and Makayla Heesch netting seven.  Kylie Christensen and Adi Fink chipped in five and four points respectively.

Defensively Adi Fink led the way with seven rebounds, Sydney Olson six and Anna Jones and Kylie Christensen each grabbed four.  Jordyn Williams had four steals and Kylie Christensen three.

Garretson JV Win Against Vermillion

Garretson played host to the Vermillion Tanagers on Friday, January 22.  The Blue Dragon’s defensive effort in the first quarter kept the Tanagers at bay as Garretson outscored Vermillion 15-4.

Second quarter action found both teams struggling offensively and the half ended with Garretson leading 17 – 10.

In the third quarter Garretson continued to struggle offensively but the Blue Dragon defense kept Vermillion from making a big run as the game went into the 4th quarter with Garretson leading by one.

The fourth quarter went in favor of the Blue Dragons as they went on to win 30 – 24.  For the defense Raegen Altman, Sydney Olson and Jordyn Williams grabbed four rebounds each.  Jordyn also had four steals and Raegen Altman three.

Leading the scoring effort was Raegen Altman with eleven points, Anna Jones six and Logan Bly netting five.
