I-29 League Garretson 14U Defeats Tea – P 14U Despite Allowing 8-Run Inning

            On Wednesday, June 29, I-29 League Garretson 14U weathered a scare by Tea - P 14U in the first inning where I-29 League Garretson 14U coughed up eight runs, but I-29 League Garretson 14U still won 20-9. Tea - P 14U's big inning was driven by singles by Ethan, Avery, and Tyson, a walk by Kage, a groundout by Blake, and a double by Ethan.

            There was plenty of action on the basepaths as I-29 League Garretson 14U collected 13 hits and Tea - P 14U had five.

            Tea - P 14U opened up scoring in the first inning when Ethan doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

            I-29 League Garretson 14U took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Treyton Decker singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run and Collin Olson singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

            I-29 League Garretson 14U scored seven runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by I-29 League Garretson 14U was led by Decker, Isaac Stoterau, Isaiah Coburn, Ian Buettner, and Decker, who all drove in runs.

            Drew Chester was on the mound for I-29 League Garretson 14U. The righthander surrendered six runs on two hits over one-third of an inning, striking out one.

            Lane toed the rubber for Tea - P 14U. The bulldog allowed one hit and six runs. Tyson and Bryson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.

            I-29 League Garretson 14U hit one home run on the day. Buettner had a four bagger in the third inning.

            I-29 League Garretson 14U totaled 13 hits in the game. Buettner, Dan Hoskins, Tyler Erickson, Decker, and Noah Schotzko each managed multiple hits for I-29 League Garretson 14U. Schotzko, Decker, Erickson, Hoskins, and Buettner each collected two hits to lead I-29 League Garretson 14U. Coburn led I-29 League Garretson 14U with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 13 stolen bases.

            Tea - P 14U collected five hits on the day. Ethan and Tyson all managed multiple hits for Tea - P 14U. Tea - P 14U tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Bryson led the way with four.

            I-29 League Garretson finishes up its regular season this week tonight (Thursday) in Humbolt.
