Saturday's Hometown Christmas was a success despite some less-than-ideal weather. The Legion was packed with holiday cheer as visitors enjoyed the breakfast from the Legionnaires, shopping and silent auction options from vendors and the Garretson Commercial Club, and bingo and chili with the Garretson Fire Department. At the school, eight games of basketball were played against Chester, with Boys' Varsity and JV pulling strong wins, and quality shopping, caroling, and food were found at local establishments.
It was all capped off with story time and crafts at the library, visits with Santa at The Treasure Chest, a 30-year anniversary celebration at the museum, and a parade of lights downtown. See more photos throughout this issue.
Above, Elijah Ramsbey won the "Guess the Candy" contest at the Garretson Museum for the second year in a row. He guessed 162 pieces, and the correct answer was 161. Judy Hanson won the "Guess the Weight" contest at The Treasure Chest AND the Meat Cooler at the Hometown Christmas Raffle, a big accomplishment as well!
