Garretson Defeats Dell Rapids St. Mary’s

On Tuesday January 5, the Blue Dragons hosted the Cardinals of Dell Rapids St. Mary’s.  Garretson had a strong showing on both the offensive and defensive side and went into the half leading the Cardinals 23 – 7.  The Blue Dragons kept the momentum going into the second half and defeated St. Mary’s 36 – 14.  Logan Bly led the offensive effort with fourteen points, Sydney Olson and Jordyn Williams netted eight and seven respectively.  Defensively Sydney Olson had six rebounds and Adi Fink grabbed five.  Makayla Heesch had three steals.

Garretson Victorious Against Tea Area

Garretson traveled to Tea Area on Saturday January 9. In first quarter action the Blue Dragons and Titans worked the floor exchanging baskets and the quarter ended with Garretson up 15-11.  The Blue Dragons took the ball to the hoop the second quarter to get to the free-throw line and go into the half leading 32-23.  In the second half the Titans couldn’t hold off the Blue Dragons attack and Garretson went on to win 61 – 39.  Garretson had a well-rounded scoring effort led by Sydney Olson with seventeen points, Raegen Altman, Logan Bly and Adi Fink each netted nine.  Kylie Christensen added seven and Jordyn Williams and Anna Jones each chipped in five.  Jordyn Williams led the defensive with six steals and Raegen Altman had five.  Rebounding for the Blue Dragons was Sydney Olson with seven, Raegen Altman and Makayla Heesch each grabbed five and Anna Jones and Kylie Christensen with four.
