“The Blue Dragons hosted the Jesse James Invitational this Saturday Jan 8th, placing six wrestlers! Hanna Hovarth placed 2nd! Placing 3rd were Jayse Miller and Preston Bohl. Three wrestlers placed 4th. These wrestlers were Tayson Swatek, Braxton Rozeboom, and Jaden Richter. The whole team wrestled well but there is still more we can do to get better. We host a quad on Thursday at 5:30 would like to see the town of Garretson to come out and support the team!”

New to GHS Wrestling is Hannah Hovarth, exchange student from Hungary. She proved to GHS and South Dakota Varsity Wrestling that she was hungry for victory!
“She has talent, and more importantly she learns well, and has come so far in just a short amount of time,” said Assistant Coach Oran Sorenson. “She’s got good character and a lot of courage. The sort of student that makes you proud to be a coach.”
Looking at this time lapse you can see why. These next four photos (below and top right on down) are only seconds apart, but showcase a come-from-behind win for Hovarth that got the crowd roaring! This match started to go badly for her, but she risked it for the biscuit, did a roll onto her back, throwing her opponent over and then cinching the pin! She placed second overall in her class for an excellent showing as a Blue Dragon Wrestler!
