Garretson Track & Field traveled to Baltic for the Big East Conference Meet last Thursday, competing with seven schools to snag their final chances to head to the State Meet next weekend, May 24-25.
Garretson competed hard, with the relay teams medaling in several categories. The 3200m relay team of Carter Siemonsma, Blaine Trower, Joshua Gilbert, and Ramsey Schweitzer clocked in at 8:46.25, earning them second place, and the 1600m girls' medley team of Jordyn Williams, Tayler Benson, Ava Peters, and Harper Andera crossed the finish line at 4:36.25, earning them third place.
Also earning third place with a time of 10:49.38 was the 3200m girls' relay team of Addison Hove, Benson, Annalise Hoeck, and Andera.
The boys' 1600m medley team of Schweitzer, Tyler Erickson, Noah Schotzko, and Aiden Johnson took home 4th place with a time of 4:10.59, and the 800m relay team consisting of Schotzko, Erickson, Ian Buettner, and Lucas Gonzalez won bronze with a time of 1:43.30.
In individual events, Siemonsma collected a silver and a PR in the 1600m run, clocking in at 4:56.81. Williamson took silver and a season record in the 100m dash at 13.11 seconds, and bronze in the 200m dash at 27.29 seconds, a personal record (PR).
Ashley Harris took home bronze in the Javelin for Garretson, throwing a PR-making 82'11".
In fourth place and each collecting personal records were Trower in the 200m dash, Gilbert in the 800m run, and Tyler Edmundson in discus.
The team competes in its final meet of the regular season today (Thursday) at the Baltic Last Chance Meet, and will learn who made State competition on Friday.
