On Wednesday, January 27, the Garretson High School performed "The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon" at Regions in Madison. They came away with a pass to the State contest in Rapid City and seven Outstanding Actor awards.
The play, which tells all 209 stories recorded by the Brothers Grimm in less than 45 minutes, is full of antics and hijinks.
"Just when you think you know where the story is going, it takes a sharp left turn," said Director Erika Brown.
On Wednesday, the acting troupe pulled out all the stops, eliciting laughs from the audience and commendations from the judges.
Seven students were awarded Outstanding Actor: Morgan Moritz, Drew Pederson, Peyton Hove, Molly Hulscher, Amber Hulscher, Mattea Fiegen, and Lizzie Olson.
They will be performing at State One Act on Friday morning at Rapid City Central High School. Vouchers are required to attend, with a very limited number released. Awards for the State performances will be given over Zoom at a later date.
