Gazette moving two doors down

Date:

On Tuesday, June 29, the Garretson Gazette announced they would be moving to a new location just two doors down from their current office.

A few months ago, owner Bob Sanders placed the Sanders Printing building up for sale as three buildings. The original Garretson News building had been a part of the Sanders family for over 100 years, initially starting as a stand-alone quartzite structure. In true Main Street fashion, a connected building was constructed on the north side for the blacksmith. The Garretson creamery was built next door to the south, and both were eventually purchased by the Sanders family. In 1964, then-owner Clifford Sanders connected the original quartzite building to the former creamery building.

In late April, The Gulch Bar & Grill announced they would be purchasing the building next door, 512 N Main (the Gazette's current office building) and the original quartzite building, with plans to expand their business.

Moritz Media LLC purchased 508 N Main, and the Gazette business will be moving at the end of July. The week of July 29 will be a "vacation week." No issue of the newspaper will be released the week of July 29 to ensure moving goes smoothly.
