Another Garretson Middle School Science Fair is in the books.

In the Animal Science division Serie Risty took first, blue, and Grand Champion with her project titled “The Bit Fit for Speed." Risty barrel races and this had practical application to an event she loves.  Reserve Champion, 2nd, and blue was Ty Van Holland’s “What Treat Do My Dogs Like Best?". 3rd and blue went to Elijah Winterton with “Goat Girth and Number of Offspring” while Autumn Genzler earned 4th and blue with “Which Treat Does My Dog Prefer?”. Earning reds and 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively were MacKenzie Sanders with “Kitten’s Growth," Isaac Stoterau’s research project on “Rabies," and Ava Adkins’ research on the “Equine Skeletal System.”

Anna Ebbing was the lone participant in the Behavioral Science category and earned a red on her “Movie Music."

Biochemistry - Food Emphasis was one of the larger categories.  Winning this category, Grand Champion, first, and blue, was Carter Siemonsma with his project titled “Brown Fruit." This project, too, had a practical application as we all like to eat and we like our food to have eye appeal.  Brooklyn Jacobson’s “Carbonation Effects with Different Meats” was Reserve Champion, 2nd, and blue; “Temperature vs. Yeast Growth” by Brenna Reker was 3rd and blue.  Red and 4th was awarded to Dylan Waltman’s “Turning Juice into Spheres”; red and 5th went to Daniel Hoskins' “What Effect do Different Types of Carbonated Beverages Have on Meat?”; and 6th and 7th with red ribbons respectively went to Alexis Christensen’s “Popcorn Kernels” and Isabelle Froehlich’s “Which is the Better Option?”.  Receiving white and 8th was Raegen Dempsey’s “Which Brand of Gum Has the Longest Lasting Flavor?” and Jayden Davis with a project titled “Effect of Carbonated Drinks on Meats” was 9th and white.
