Jays go to 6-0 in league and 7-1 on the season as they beat the devils of Lennox 17-0 on Tuesday, July 12.
Trey Buckenberg threw a gem giving up just two hits, both on off speed pitches, that assistant coach Joey Fitz did not like.
Brady Bonte caught and made up with the ump that threatened to kick him out of a past game. #ForgiveandForget.
Nick Bonte showed his new son the ropes by ripping a couple hits. Jack Sparo did his thing of playing top notch baseball.
Coach Vanhove played first with an 11-inch glove because we still can’t find the team’s first baseman glove. If you stole it, please bring it back.
Scott splett caught a fly ball.
After the game the ump came up and told us that our pitcher is a F’n Beast, thanks for that, now we won’t hear the end of it for the rest of the year.
The Jays traveled to Larchwood on Wednesday to battle it out for first place at 7:30pm.
Jays beat Larchwood 11-1 in 8
Dustin - the cannon - Steckler started on the mound and was dealing last Wednesday, throwing it to vacuum Brady Bonte. We had 4 guys in the dugout and somehow we didn’t keep track of his strike outs, but if I had to guess it was around 6 and he gave up 4 hits in 6 innings.
Joey Fitz started at second and made a gem of a play in the first and threw a guy out at first, but not before he threw his arm out. #Rubberducky.
Jays jumped on the diamonds right away with a double to right by Nick Bonte, taking a 3-0 lead.
The next inning Tayson Swatek tried giving it back while dropping a can a corn fly ball, luckily Steckler took things into his own hands striking the next guy out. Sam Quantaince showed up to his first game of the year, of course it was the championship game and ran and played a stellar second base.
Coach Vanhove pimped a home run to find out it landed 5 feet short of the warning track and almost got thrown out at second.
Labrie came in during the 7th and did his thing like normal after throwing 1k BP pitches to the kids he coaches the day before.
Brady deballs got a walk in the 8th and Jack sparo looked lost at the plate.
Next game was Wednesday, July 20 vs Akron at Akron at 7:30 p.m. (results not available at press time).
The 14th Annual Jays Open Golf Tournament will be held August 20, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The 4-man scramble has a cost of $65, which includes green fees, cart, and mulligans, and is a fundraiser for the team. Early registration is highly suggested, as they sold out last year.
