Garretson Blue Dragons Falls To McCook Central/Montrose After Intense High-Scoring Game

Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between McCook Central/Montrose and Garretson Blue Dragons where Garretson Blue Dragons lost 7-6.

Garretson Blue Dragons lost despite out-hitting McCook Central/Montrose eight to five.

McCook Central/Montrose got things moving in the second inning, when Claussen singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

McCook Central/Montrose took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Claussen doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, Loudenburg lined out, driving in a run, and Gordon drew a walk, scoring one run.

Garretson Blue Dragons tallied six runs in the third inning. Garretson Blue Dragons's offense in the inning came from singles by Jake Schroder and Josef Zahn, a walk by Evan Bly, by Isaiah Gnadt, and a double by Tayson Swatek.

Gordon pitched McCook Central/Montrose to victory. The ace allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.

Zahn took the loss for Garretson Blue Dragons. The righthander went three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on five hits and striking out two.

Koepsell started the game for McCook Central/Montrose. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out one

Garretson Blue Dragons tallied eight hits on the day. Dylan Kindt and Schroder each managed multiple hits for Garretson Blue Dragons. Schroder and Kindt all had two hits to lead Garretson Blue Dragons.

Claussen led McCook Central/Montrose with two hits in two at bats.

Two Garretson Blue Dragons Pitchers Combine in Shutout Victory Against Sioux Falls Christian

Garretson Blue Dragons defeated Sioux Falls Christian 4-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Dylan Kindt induced a double-play from Hart to finish off the game.

One bright spot for Sioux Falls Christian was a single by Snyder in the first inning.

Isaiah Gnadt led the Garretson Blue Dragons to victory on the mound. Gnadt went four and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out five. Kindt threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Weeldreyer took the loss for Sioux Falls Christian. The bulldog allowed five hits and four runs over six innings, striking out six.

Kindt led Garretson Blue Dragons with two hits in four at bats. Garretson Blue Dragons was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ryan Flanagan had the most chances in the field with seven. Garretson Blue Dragons stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Jake Schroder led the way with three.

Reitz went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Sioux Falls Christian in hits.

The Blue Dragons then took on West Central in Tea on Tuesday, May 25 in post-season play (results not available at press time).
