Garretson 16U came charging out of the gate last week, playing four games in five days. Their first match of the season was against Parker on Tuesday, followed by a face-off against Tri-Valley on Friday, and two games against both Baltic and Tea on Saturday. In a nearly clean sweep, the Garretson team defeated all but Baltic, who managed to pull ahead in the fifth inning. The team currently stands at 4-1 for the season, and will be up against West Central at Hartford today (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. They'll play the Tea Bolts on the home turf on Monday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Swatek Shines at the Plate in Garretson 16U Victory Over Parker
Tayson Swatek came to ballpark and meant business on Tuesday, June 8, tallying four hits and leading Garretson 16U to a 10-3 win over Parker. Swatek tripled in the first, singled in the third, tripled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.
Garretson 16U opened up scoring in the first inning, when Swatek tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Garretson 16U scored four runs in the fourth inning. Garretson 16U batters contributing to the big inning included Swatek, Carson Clark, and Drew Pederson, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Clark was on the pitcher's mound for Garretson 16U. Clark went three and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking one.
#2 was on the hill for Parker. undefined lasted five innings, allowing 11 hits and ten runs while striking out five.

Garretson 16U was victorious over Tri-Valley, 5-4. In the first inning, Garretson 16U got their offense started when Tayson Swatek doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Garretson 16U pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Swatek doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Jayse Miller doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Samuel Schleuter grounded out, scoring one run.
Miller pitched Garretson 16U to victory. Miller lasted five innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out six. Swatek threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Swatek recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Garretson 16U.
Kaden Egger took the loss for Tri-Valley. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out seven and walking one.
Garretson 16U racked up seven hits. Swatek and Dylan Kindt all managed multiple hits for Garretson 16U. Kindt and Swatek all had two hits to lead Garretson 16U.
Beau Keith led Tri-Valley with two hits in two at bats. Tri-Valley didn't commit a single error in the field. Lawson Louseau had the most chances in the field with nine.
Garretson 16U Falls to Baltic After Fifth Inning Score
Garretson 16U lost the lead late in an 8-1 defeat to Baltic on Saturday morning. The game was tied at one with Baltic batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored two runs for Baltic.
The Garretson 16U struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Baltic, giving up eight runs.
Garretson 16U opened up scoring in the first inning, when Garretson 16U scored one run on a stolen base.
In the bottom of the third inning, Baltic tied things up at one. Cooper Gedering singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Riley Dobbins pitched Baltic to victory. The hurler lasted six innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out ten.
Dylan Kindt started the game for Garretson 16U. Kindt allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out six and walking one.
Tayson Swatek took the loss for Garretson 16U. Swatek allowed six hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Swatek, Carson Clark, Braxten Rozeboom, and Kindt each collected one hit to lead Garretson 16U.
Baltic racked up seven hits on the day. Gedering and Tyler Erickson each collected multiple hits for Baltic. Baltic was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Taydon Hanson made the most plays with ten.
Two Pitchers Team Up as Garretson 16U Defeats Tea Gold in Shut-Out
Garretson 16U defeated Tea Gold 16-0 on Saturday evening as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Samuel Schleuter struck out C Severson to finish off the game.
Garretson 16U opened up scoring in the first inning. Tayson Swatek singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Garretson 16U notched six runs in the fifth inning. Dylan Kindt, Swatek, Jayse Miller, and Carson Clark each had RBIs in the frame.
A double by C Hamilton in the second inning was a positive for Tea Gold.
Clark led the Garretson 16U to victory on the pitcher's mound. Clark went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out three. Schleuter threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
M Schramm took the loss for Tea Gold. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while walking zero.

Garretson 14U Claws Back, But Falls Just Short Against Elkton
Garretson 14U's effort to come back from down eight runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 10-8 to Elkton on Thursday. Garretson 14U scored six runs in the failed comeback on a double by Ian Buettner in the fifth, a single by Treyton Decker in the fifth, a walk by Tyler Erickson in the seventh, and a double by Buettner in the seventh.
Garretson 14U fell behind early in the loss. Elkton scored on a double by Lane in the first inning, a double by Nate in the first inning, a single by Lane in the second inning, a single by Nate in the second inning, and a single by Ashton in the second inning.
Elkton got on the board in the first inning when Lane doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
Garretson 14U tallied three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught came from a walk by Erickson and a double by Buettner.
Elkton scored four runs in the second inning. Elkton's big inning was driven by singles by Lane, Nate, and Ashton.
Nate led things off on the mound for Elkton. The bulldog lasted six and a third innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while striking out five.
Decker led things off on the hill for Garretson 14U. The righty allowed 12 hits and eight runs over two innings, striking out one. Caleb Westerbur threw four innings in relief.
Garretson 14U saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Dylan Wolf, Collin Olson, and Buettner each collected multiple hits for Garretson 14U. Wolf led Garretson 14U with three hits in three at bats. Garretson 14U stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Erickson led the way with two. Garretson 14U was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Cole Schleuter made the most plays with seven.
Elkton totaled 15 hits. Nate, Andrew, Jack, Elliot, Ashton, and Lane each racked up multiple hits for Elkton. Elkton was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Andrew had the most chances in the field with seven.
The team faced off against Hills-Beaver Creek on Tuesday (results not available at press time), and will take on Tri-Valley in Colton on Friday at 8:00 p.m. Their next home game will be versus Castlewood on Tuesday, June 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Garretson Blue Jays win first game of the season
The Garreton Blue Jays amateur baseball team got their first win of the season last Tuesday, June 8 against the Dirt Devils in Lennox, with a score of 19-3.
They had been pitted against the Akron Rebels on May 23 and the Larchwood Diamonds on June 1, but both games took the hit as the team lost 2-10 against Akron and 2-7 against Larchwood.
They next face the Akron Rebels for a re-match on the home turf at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
