Swatek Collects Four Hits as Garretson 16U Defeats Volga

Tayson Swatek collected four hits in five at bats, as Garretson 16U defeated Volga 10-3 on Thursday. Swatek doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fifth.

Garretson 16U got things started in the first inning. Swatek drove in one when Swatek doubled.

Garretson 16U scored five runs in the second inning. Garretson 16U scored its runs on an RBI single by Swatek.

Carson Clark pitched Garretson 16U to victory. The righty allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out four. Swatek and Cooper Long entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

B Shiller took the loss for Volga. Shiller surrendered nine runs on seven hits over two innings, striking out two.

Garretson 16U racked up 11 hits. Swatek, Samuel Schleuter, and Long all had multiple hits for Garretson 16U. Swatek went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Garretson 16U in hits.

Shiller led Volga with two hits in four at bats.

Garretson 16U Takes 4-3 Victory Over Dell Rapids

Garretson 16U won the contest against Dell Rapids, 4-3 on Monday, July 12. Dell Rapids opened up scoring in the first inning. D Mathis drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the top of the seventh inning, Dell Rapids tied things up at three. An error scored one run for Dell Rapids.

Dylan Kindt earned the victory on the hill for Garretson 16U. The southpaw allowed one hit and one run over two and a third innings, striking out five and walking zero.

W Jaton took the loss for Dell Rapids. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing two hits and one run.

LJ Smith started the game for Dell Rapids. Smith allowed five hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three Cooper Long started the game for Garretson 16U. The righthander allowed three hits and two runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight

Kindt led Garretson 16U with three hits in three at bats.

The team played Elkton at home on Wednesday (results not available at press time). They'll hit the road and face off against the Madison White next Tuesday, then return home and play Tri-Valley next Thursday.
