Garretson 16U Baseball update

Garretson 16U baseball has been on a roll, taking the win on the last 2 out of 3 games. As they enter their second month of the season, the team has an overall score of 8-2. They play tonight (Thursday) in Volga, and pick up the ball on the home turf for three games next week. On Monday, they face up against Dell Rapids at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday against Hamlin at 5:30 p.m., and Wednesday versus Elkton at 7:00 p.m.

Two Pitchers Team Up as Garretson 16U Shuts Out Dell Rapids

Garretson 16U defeated Dell Rapids 9-0 on Thursday, June 24 as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jayse Miller struck out S. Williams to finish off the game. Garretson 16U secured the victory thanks to five runs in the second inning. Tayson Swatek, Miller, and Samuel Schleuter powered the big inning with runs batted in (RBIs).

Garretson 16U got things moving in the first inning, when Schleuter reached on a dropped third strike, and scored five runs in the second inning. Swatek, Miller, and Schleuter each had RBIs in the frame.

A single by A. Boechler in the first inning was a positive for Dell Rapids.

Dylan Kindt was the winning pitcher for Garretson 16U. The southpaw allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out ten. Miller threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

  1. Jaton took the loss for Dell Rapids. The pitcher went four innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and striking out four.

Garretson 16U racked up ten hits. Kindt and Miller each collected multiple hits for Garretson 16U. Miller and Kindt each collected two hits to lead Garretson 16U. Kindt led Garretson 16U with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases. Garretson 16U was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Swatek had the most chances in the field with 16.

Garretson 16U Blows Away Flandreau by Seven Runs

Garretson 16U easily did away with Flandreau 10-3 on Monday, June 28.

Garretson 16U notched five runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a walk by Jayse Miller and by Dylan Jessen.

Cooper Long was the winning pitcher for Garretson 16U. The righthander went two and a third innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out four. Tayson Swatek threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Camden took the loss for Flandreau. The bulldog surrendered nine runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out six.

Carson Clark started the game for Garretson 16U. The righty went two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out two and walking one.

Garretson 16U racked up 11 hits on the day. Clark and Swatek all managed multiple hits for Garretson 16U. Swatek and Clark each collected three hits to lead Garretson 16U.

Early Lead for Madison Black Seals Fate for Garretson 16U

Garretson 16U fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-2 loss to Madison Black on Wednesday.

Madison Black scored on a triple by M. Kennington, an error, and an error in the first inning.

The Garretson 16U struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Madison Black, giving up 12 runs.

Madison Black scored four runs in the sixth inning. Kennington, L Johnson, and J Goes each drove in runs during the inning. J Wolf pitched Madison Black to victory. The ace went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four. A Jensen threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Carson Clark took the loss for Garretson 16U. The righthander allowed one hit and three runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.

Treyton Chester, Clark, Braxten Rozeboom, and Cooper Long all had one hit to lead Garretson 16U.
