This week, the 14U baseball team played in the SDVFW 14U Class B Region Tournament in Garretson. The first two games were held Monday evening, with the team prevailing in both. In the first bracket, Garretson took on Hamlin, overcoming the team easily 5-2. The second bracket was against Baltic, where the Garretson team got a great head start and nearly lost it. After some hard work, they were victorious with a final score of 7-6.
Their third game, the championship round, was held Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Garretson. While the first game saw Hamlin inch over the plate to snag the win, the playoffs were a resounding rebuttal, resulting in a 12-2 win by Garretson to ensure the Regional Championship slot!
State baseball playoffs will be held in Bryant, SD July 22-24.
