On February 21-28, the Garretson FFA celebrated its annual FFA week, beginning with Mayor Greg Beaner signing a proclamation on Monday, February 22, and ending with the community appreciation breakfast on Sunday. In between, they offered Ag education to Garretson students through games, presentations, dress up days, and an animal nursery.
āThe Garretson FFA members extend a huge Thank You to the community of Garretson and surrounding areas. We missed socializing with all of you, but we were honored to serve over 300 meals this morning,ā wrote FFA Advisor Alysha Kientopf. āWe are forever grateful for your contributions through monetary donations, time, and continuous support. Thank You again for a great day, even in uncertain times!ā

The llama appeared to be the most popular animal with the Garretson Elementary kindergarten class at the FFA animal nursery last Thursday. Whether it was the llama, the goats, or any of the smaller farm animals in attendance, the FFA was able to provide agricultural education and encourage the interest of future FFA participants.
