City Council narrowly approves resolution against IM28

            The City Council officially lodged its own resolution against IM28 in its regular meeting on Monday, joining the municipal forces across the state that are arguing against removing the state sales tax on groceries.

            IM28 is being proposed to help relieve the tax burden on families within the state, and is on the ballot this November for voters to decide. It was a measure proposed by Governor Kristi Noem for the 2023 legislative season, and estimated at that time to cost the state approximately $102 million.
