Buchholz Viral Video turns to Extra Christmas Cheer!

Date:

On Christmas Day, 5-year old Garretson Elementary student Coyer Buchholz received a trading card of Houston Texans' Defensive End J.J. Watts as a Christmas gift. His screaming reaction was not only priceless, but caught the attention of the NFL player himself.

Coyer's father, Cory Buchholz, posted the video of Coyer's reaction to Twitter and tagged Watts.

"J.J. Watts! Let's goooo!" yelled Coyer upon unwrapping the gift. The video shows a quick view of the card after focusing on Coyer, who was jumping and screaming around the room.

Later that day, Watts retweeted the video and responded with a video of his own.

"Made my day, thank you Colton (I think!)," Watts wrote, noting in the video that he was making an educated guess on the name based on the stocking in the background. "Merry Christmas! (Please DM me an address that I can send to!)". In the video, Watts showed a box containing trading cards, along with a pair of game-worn gloves and cleats, noting that he planned to send some of those Coyer's way.

"Your reaction made my morning," Watts said in the video. "I woke up this morning and saw your reaction to getting a trading card of mine, and it made my day, so I appreciate that, and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas."

ABC13 in Houston also saw the video, and interviewed the Buchholz's to talk about Coyer's reaction.

"We're very excited," Coyer said over Zoom to ABC13.

"I said, 'Oh my gosh! Boys, look at this!' And we actually watched the video, and that's when we were all stunned and shocked. Like, 'Oh my gosh, J.J. Watt responded,'" said Cory to the news affiliate.

Friends and family are certain it's not going to be the last time young Buchholz makes the news. They're sure he's going to have a bright sports future ahead.
