On January 17th, 2022, the Blue Dragons welcomed the Colman/Egan Hawks to town for a night of basketball. The Blue Dragons jumped out early and never looked back as they took down the Hawks 60-23.

“We did a nice job running through our offensive sets, which led to several scoring opportunities that we were able to convert,” stated Coach Heitkamp. “Even though we did a nice job offensively, I was much more satisfied with our efforts on the defensive side of the ball. We were able to limit second chance scoring opportunities and we were much more physical, rebounding the ball tonight. When you can do that on any given night...the chances of pulling out a victory is much greater.”

Cooper Long (3 steals and 3 assists) and Dylan Kindt (9 rebounds and 3 steals) had the hot hand for the Blue Dragons denting the nets for 19 and 15 points. Sam Schleuter (9 rebounds and 3 steals) and new comer Ian Buettner dropped down 10 and 6 points apiece. Cadyn Ockenga (7 rebounds and 3 steals) and Rhett Kloth (7 rebounds and 3 blocks) chipped in with 4 points each, while Dylan Jessen rounded out the scoring with 2 points of his own. The Blue Dragons who are supporting a 5 and 6 record will be traveling down to Vermillion on January 21st to battle the Tanagers!
