Blue Dragon Soccer Kicks Some In!

Garretson versus Worthington on Saturday, September 7 at the annual Kick Out Cancer game. Garretson kept scoring high despite the rainy conditions.

On September 5th the Garretson Blue Dragon soccer team took on Mitchell. After a slow first half start, the Dragons were down 3-0 at halftime. They came out hard the second half and were able to cut the lead to 3-1 after a goal by Riley Altman. However, the Kernels tallied another goal, ending the game in a 4-1 loss for the Lady Dragons.

Blue Dragon Soccer versus Mitchell was held Thursday, Sept 5. The game ended in a 1-4 loss for the Dragons.

On Saturday, the Lady Dragons returned to the pitch to battle the Worthington, MN Trojans in the annual Kick Out Cancer game. Despite the rainy conditions, the Dragons jumped out to an early lead, scoring in the first 5 minutes of the match. They kept the scoring rolling and were up 4- 1 at halftime. The scoring continued the second half, with a final score of 7-1. Finding the back of the net were Malia Johnson and Jordyn Williams, each with one goal. Riley Altman scored twice and Morgan Damman completed the hat trick by scoring three goals. Multiple Dragons assisted with goals on the day, including, Allison Ebbing and Madison Ljunggren with two assists each. Rounding out the assists for the day was Rachel Kindt with one.

The Dragons are now 3-2-2 on the season and 4th in the Class A soccer standings. They take on #3 ranked West Central on Tuesday, September 10th at 6:00pm.

This will be a big game for us against a very good team who had made it to the state championship multiple years in a row. (Results not available by press time.)
