Blue Dragon boys C Team drops 2 games in recent action

Garretson played host to the Vermillion Tanagers on Friday January 22nd and fell by the score of 27 – 51.

“Overall, this was a better game than the final score. For us, this was such a winnable game and I hope that the boys realize it as much as we as coaches do. We came out flat in both the first and third quarters which led to us falling behind by an insurmountable margin,” noted Coach Buchholz.

Blaine Trower and Clay Lardy led the way each with 6 points and they were followed closely by Dylan Jessen and Junior Olson each with 4 points apiece. Saige Solheim knocked down a 3 pointer while Matthew Gilbert and Treyton Chester each had a 2-point bucket apiece.

The following Monday night, January 25th, the C team had a matchup with the Trojans from West Central in Hartford and came out on the losing end. “Intensity out of the gates is huge and we once again came out not ready to play. Somehow the boys need to realize that other teams will not just give us free buckets, time outs, etc.; they must all be earned. To earn them, we have to come out of the locker room ready to play when we step on the floor. West Central took it to us in every aspect of the game and going forward we need to start being confident with our own abilities,” stated Coach Buchholz.

Leading the way again was Dylan Jessen with 5 hard earned points and Treyton Chester with a 3-point bucket of his own. Blaine Trower and Matthew Gilbert each dropped in 2 points while Junior Olson tallied a free throw for 1 point.
