Among Us is among the students

Among Us is a video game on Android and iOS and has become popular among high school students. It is similar to the familiar camp game "Mafia."

Recently a game called Among Us has started gaining attraction. Among Us is a game where you are either a crew mate or an imposter. The game was originally released on June 15, 2018 but didn't gain traction till late 2020. Although the game is popular in the U.S., the game is more popular in Mexico and South Korea.

As the crewmate, you have to finish tasks around the ship whilst not getting killed by the imposter. If you get killed by the imposter you can still do tasks but cannot participate in the discussion. There are two ways of winning as the crewmate. You and the other crewmates have to either finish all of your tasks or figure out who the imposter is.

When asked about strategies to win, Tayson Swatek said, “wait to do visual tasks till somebody is around,” Jayse Miller said another strategy is to watch the cameras.

Dylan Kindt said another strategy is, “stay with a group of three then you're less likely to get killed.” Some other things you could do is if you think a crewmate is suspicious, then when they’ re doing a task watch them do it and when they are finished if the task bar doesn't move, they are probably an imposter.

As the imposter your job is to eliminate all of the crewmates sneakily so that they can't figure out who it is. As the imposter there is another way to win. If you sabotage certain aspects of the ship it will cause a timer to appear. If the part of the ship is not fixed before the timer counts down then the imposter wins.

As the imposter, a way to not look suspicious is to fake tasks but be careful, because if somebody’s watching and it's taking you awhile to do the task or when you finish the task bar doesn't move they might get more suspicious. Also, when they are voting make sure you have an alibi for where you were when the body is killed.
