The American Legion Auxiliary met on April 7 at 8:00. Chairman, Cheryl Lyngen opened the meeting and our chaplain, Sue, led us in prayer. One guest, Linda Holmes, from Mitchell, was introduced. She is currently a candidate for State Historian.
Roll call indicated one officer absent. The secretary’s report was read, approved and placed on file. The treasurer’s report was read, approved and placed on file for audit. Scholarship applications will be reviewed.
DaNann Tirrel is our District 7 winner for Legionette of the Year. She will represent us at the State Convention in Watertown in June. Congratulations to DaNann!
There was one bill for $45.00. The motion to pay was made by Denise and seconded by Liz.
Cheryl stated that our membership is at 187 currently which is over our goal!
Volunteers are needed to clean in the kitchen and a list will be made of places that need cleaning.
Palisade HealthCare Bingo will be next Wednesday, April 13 at 2:30. Volunteers are Elaine, Ethel, Kathy and Cheryl.
The National Commander will be here for breakfast on Tuesday, April 26. Cheryl and Kathy will provide egg bake for about 30 people.
Diane reported that one get well card was sent this last month.
Our next meeting is May 5.

District 7 Unit Member of the Year update
On March 31, Henry G Fix Unit #23 of Garretson, SD announced that DaNann Williamson Tirrel is the Unit Member of the Year for 2021-2022. An included photo was not captioned. DaNann (center) is pictured with State ALA President, Mary Jo Stier and District 7 President, Noelle Bonjour.
SD is divided into 8 districts of Legion/Auxiliary. In June at the State Legion/Auxiliary Convention, a Unit member will be chosen to represent the state at the National Convention.
