A Wrestling Family Moment, Correction:

Date:

A person wiser than me once said “Never be afraid to admit a mistake!”  In an effort to do a special story for last weeks paper, I did just that.

My sincerest apology goes out to Paul Nesheim and his mother Pat.  Paul is a good friend and was a very important part of that first-year wrestling team competing at what I have always said was the toughest weight class in the state, 126 lbs.

Even though I thought I carefully went through each family on that first varsity squad, I overlooked Pat.  But I guess the good news is that we still have Pat and that Marge is not the only surviving parent of that first starting team.  I am very fond of Pat and remember well when she and her Jasper Red Hatters visited our Sorenson Family Museums.

Looking deeper, I know that we still have at least one more surviving parent still with us today who had a son on the junior varsity team.  Another wonderful Lady and family friend, Joyce Risty had a young son Bert who worked hard at improving his skills as well under Coach Al Bowar.
