The Jesse James Players raised $1,106.00 for the Garretson Food Pantry this past Garretson Hometown Christmas festival, at the Jesse James Players’ Golden Girls
Holiday Christmas Murder Mystery Dinner Theater.
“Both nights we had sold out shows,” said play Director Marcia Gnadt. “And people were very generous, they were quite literally throwing money at us. We’re happy to make Christmas brighter in Garretson, not just by putting on a fun show, but by giving to those who need it most.”
The play was an interactive, audience participation show, figuring out whodunit. Each suspect took bribes to reveal a secondary clue after being questioned by the audience. These “bribes” were then donated to the food pantry by the
JJ Players after the show.
“This was really great for us,” said Kris Frerk of the Garretson Food Pantry. Eleven hundred dollars is nothing to sneeze at and will go a long way to helping local families this holiday season. This is especially useful since the last three months we’ve been very busy at the Food Pantry. Aside from helping us to restock, it will also help us to buy meat for local families as well as to continue to provide milk tickets for students at our school.”
Above, Frerk receives a check for $1,106.00 from Gnadt of the Jesse James Players. For more, see page 2 of our online edition.
